took 5ver down to bristol tn. last night, on the way fuel pressure drops almost to zero on a pull 4 at idle. as long as it held above zero i was going to limp the 5ver on in. stopped for fuel @ 1/4 of a tank and the pressure came back to normal taking 25 gal.

now have fuel pressure but erratic. made it home but i am supposed to return tuesday night... ...

where can i get a lift pump?:{

That is interesting that when you filled the tank up the pressure came back???

Any dealer will cover your liftpump under warranty.

no dealer around here has one in stock. they also have no idea what you are talking about when you say lift pump!

looked up cummins on the net and they have some, $100 cheaper than the stealer.

need one now so i will do it myself, cummins interstate power said they have 7 of then, i will be going there tomorrow.

filling the tank must have made the pump not have to work so hard to get the fuel. maybe time for a pusher

Just take it easy on way to get pump , the fuel is pushing from the tank siphon effect and was not pushing through lift pump that was restricting the flow injector pump was sucking the fuel and needed more help from the tank . LOL Ron Bissett in LOUISVILLE KY:D

And bring the tools to put pump on and do it at Cummins LOT Ron

What is the possibility that you have a malfunctioning fuel cap. According to the SM, the cap is supposed to relieve pressure and vacuum at preset points. If it doesn't, it needs to be replaced. However, it might be possible to clean the cap. Possibly soaking it in diesel or kero for a while might loosen up the crud and let it function again. But this is pure conjecture; I've never done it.

lift pump for Goddard

You can get a lift pump at Blugrass Diesel (859) 282-8785 it is located in KY just below the Turfway exit. You will need the serial # off of your engine before they will help you. The pump cost $146. 00 plus a harness ($11. 00) and maybe shipping. Get that pump fixed fast because your injector pump is at risk of failure, mine just did 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. :--) I was told Dodge had the pumps on back order and that they wanted around $500. 00 for them.

I have 73k on my truck and I am on my second lift pump. I didnt have a FP guage the first time it went out, I have one now. My question is at idle or just cruzen its pegged at 15+. But when I get on it up a hill or at WOT it goes to zero until i let off a bit then it goes to pegged again. Is my lift pump failing again? There is no sign in performance yet?

with a new lift pump and an edge pulse, cannot pull the pressure below 8 under any conditions. have replaced banjos with bigger ones from genos. don't know about with your setup and injectors. try it with the comp turned back and see. i still don't think that it should go to zero. maybe someone else will chime in with a setup closer to yours.
