Well my lift pump I think has always been weak. It has showed a max of 12psi from the time I put the gauges on, about 2 or 3 months ago. Now when starting in the morning, instead of the usual up pressure (to around 6 or so) when I start it, then it falls, to the no pressure at all till the truck warms up a bit, then it comes back up to where it used to run.

Wondering if I should even try taking it to the dealer or not? If I do, it may flow just fine after being warmed up. Then it'll cost me the trip to the dealer AND a new lift pump. I also remember reading on here about someplace having a lifetime warranty on lift pumps, Chucks or Checkers or someplace like that. Anyone remember???

Also anyone know of a GOOD Dodge dealer in Colorado??? Oh and if I do take it in, should I pull the EZ box???

there have been several recent posts concerning this. do a search and you may find the info you need.

i did it myself after the dealer declaired my lift pump good.

remove the edge box before you take it in if you go that route.

pull the ez good luck with the dealer and don't buy one from them they sell them for a astronomical price myself or the other vendors on this site can set you up with a much better price.

Rattlin, Go to NAPA and get their Item#: NFPP74213 Lift pump. Their web site list it for $179. 99. I got mine for $140. 00, becuase I do a lot of my own repairs, and the guys at my local NAPA know me. I hope this helps, Moose

I know Oreilly Auto also sells the same Carter FUel pump that Cummins sells. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.

They also price match, so you can get it at the Cummins price. win-win IMO.

I had mine checked & the dealer told me we should have 7psi cranking & 10psi running. They changed mine @ NO CHARGE to me. I have 56000 miles on my 2001\2500. Good Luck
