Ok, I just got my LP today. It didn't come with any instructions. It looks pretty straightforward, but I have a couple questions. The service manual doesn't help any.

Is there any certain way the lever that goes into the block has to be?

Do I install the gasket dry, or use some RTV on it?

Also the fuel line fittings, dry or do they need some kind of sealant?

Thanks, Steve

Well, OK then. I guess I'll answer that one.

The lever,or leeeeever as in England is positioned in the block just below the cam lobe. Simply set it straight in and you should have it. If for any reason it will not, bump the started a bit to turn the lobe up and away from the lever to assist installation. It should go right in and set in flush w/out having to fight it . Bump it over if this is the case.

Clean the engine mounting surface well, install dry. Gasket cement will not aid because the gasket slips over the two studs.

Sealant is always good practice on pipe threads. I use the liquid dope in a can w/brush in the lid.

Have fun.

:D I got it on Friday, runs good. Wasn't too bad, except for getting the old gasket off. Since I put a couple little nicks in the block when I was fighting the old gasket, I put just a little RTV on it, to help hold it on too. Definitely not enough to make its own gasket, I did find something on the old one that looked like RTV.

Thanks for the help keeping another 1st genner on the road:D
