How long should I expect the lift pump to last. It seems to me that a lot of folks have problems at about 100,000 miles. I'm well past that, but no problem so far. Am I on borrowed time? I am considering buying a replacement to keep on hand.

The lift pumps on the 24v are the ones having all the problems. Our lift pumps do not seem to have as many problems.

Sorry, as far as mileage I'm not sure what the average is.

I'm pretty close to 140,000 miles lift pump o. k. Injection pump made it too 61,000 miles though before it crapped on me

I lost my lift pump at 293,000 miles. That's the only engine problem I've had in 309,000 miles.

Mine started leaking about 87k on my 97. It was replaced free under the Cummins 100k warranty, They said they put an "upgraded part #" on it. It would have been about $190. 00 plus 2 hrs labor, but they paid for it. I called three Dodge dealers before I found one that said it was covered, others said the warranty only applied to the block & head.
