Archived Lift pump not lifting

Help please, we are at a RV park in Carson

city NV and have to leave this wed. and now our 98 12v won't start. I had my wife turn it over while i pulled up on the lift pump and it ran fine but as soon as i let go the linkage droped and the engine stoped. When you first hit the starter the linkage pulls up and it runs for about 1/2 second and then the linkage drops and the engine dies. Is this the solenoid or the relay. Thank you Richard:{

You sure it was the lift pump?

Were you pulling up on the fuel shutoff solonoid on the injection pump? It's a black cylinder on the back side of the injection pump on the side of the AFC housing. If that's what your pulling up on, and it runs, get a piece of wire and tie it up so it runs till you can do electrical testing on it and see if you have regular key on power to it, not just starter engagement.

Thanks you were right. I get my solenoids mixed up. Wire works for now and will trouble shoot from there. R

senile and blind

I can't beleive it but my whole problem was a blown fuse, i know i must be blind because i looked at all the fuses first think. Oh well all is well that ends well.
