howdy guys, im lokking for suggestions on a replacement lift pump. it aint broke yet. knock on wood. i recently bought the truck and i want it to last. ive been thinking about the fass system. seems like a solid setup. whenever my shop has a cummins roll in they have the fass system on then. ( celect series, n14) and like the feedback i here on them. i was wondering if yall could lean me in the right direction as far as price. im interested in used ones to. cant seem to find any on ebay. thanks guys any input would be appreciated. by the way our cat to cummins breakdown rate is about 10/1

The Fass is a great unit. I have the 150 & it has been great, but if I was gonna buy new..... a 95 system would be my money. The Airdog systems are good too from what I've been hearing, but I have never used one myself. I bought my Fass used from a fellow member of TDR. If money gets tight... . you can always get a pusher pump inline to raise your fuel pressure/flow. The Holley blue is a good choice & only $110 at Advance Auto parts.

I chose the FASS 150 since it was availible locally and has a 6 year warranty and is designed for Diesel applications, been very happy with it, quiet, 20 p. s. i. at idle, 17 p. s. i. at wot.

I don't wish to walk all over your thread with my personal opinions or preferences as, I find, is sometimes the case when someone asks for such. However, I will say, that if you try to run a pusher to your garbage Carter, you're wasting your money.
I firmly believe that any modification to the original Carter fuel delivery system will buy a little time and cost you a lot of money. Cut to the chase and install a quality frame mounted pump! There are a few that come with or without filtering. Learn from others mistakes. Don't use Carter when renewing.

Airdog. It really runs better! Can't really explain it. Always 13 psi, never more, never less.
I am ready for a VP44 failure, but will experiment by leaving this one on as long as possible. Right now I am getting 22. 41 mpg between 63 and 75 mph. I attribute this to the Airdog, my new wheels and tires and conservative driving.

Personally I recommend the Glacier GFS-392, but the FASS and Airdog are good units as well. I idle at 19-20 psi and never go below 14 psi.
