Anybody have the lift pump part number, my local Dodge dealer is not very cooperative. I would rather gross the number and buy it from the Cummins dealer here. '93 W250..... Thanks, Glen

Glen,

You didn't specify if it was the stock diaphram lift pump or the piston upgrade. I'm assuming you're wanting to upgrade. Here ya go:

Cummins Part # 3936320 lift pump (qty 1)

# 3914753 Fuel Line (qty 1)

# 3931348 Gasket (qty 2)

# 3914284 Spacer (qty1)

# 3918191 Seals (qty 2)

Aloha,

Matt

I don't know the part #, but, if you look on the drivers side of the timing gear cover (around the injector pump) and get the engine serial # off the plate. That should be all the Cummins dealer should need. It should be cheaper at the Cummins dealer anyway.

The numbers for the piston lift pump and the banjo washers have changed.

Lift pump - 4944714

Washers - 3963983

Got a Case/IH dealer close? Take the Cummins number, change the first 3 to a J, and it will be even cheaper than Cummins. I bought everything but the pump at a Case dealer for $42. I got the lift pump through O'Reilly's with my employee discount for $93.

We have a huge Case IH dealer here. They were a family business run out of a small town southwest of here and just dominated the tractor market due to their service for about 40 miles in all directions. IH wanted a modern facility and made them build a new dealership closer to Salina. Their old dealership was very prosperous in a town of about 100 people. Now they are in a city of 50,000, have much more overhead and less business. I am guessing they lost a lot of that home town simpleness that helped them do so well. Thanks for the tip. Glen

I can about gaurantee that they will have to order the spacer. It is a nonwear item, and when I checked with Cummins, they told me to try and fix my old one if I needed to get my truck going sooner, but obviously we don't have one with the diaphram pump. The closest one to me was in Dallas (I'm in NE Indiana), so I had to wait like 3 days. Not a big deal since I have IP fits right now. At least Dallas is closer to you.

I heard that some place else recently... .....

Glad you guys got a better deal that way! ;) :D

Hate to disagree with some of you but the correct Cummins part number for a 1st gen lift pump is 3970880 and the gasket is 3939258. Shadrach

that is true but a guy would have to be nutz to put that pump on a cummins motor

the pump is only 2/3 the size of the orig pump

(the guy at cummins agreed with me that it is not large enough)

piston pump or fass

imo

that depends on if you want to use a ext regulator and a bypass system

imo that is the way to go

probably last a lot longer than any elec pump too

and the inlet fitting for that pump is huge, works great with 1/2" supply line

don
