Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Another '02 lift pump question

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) No power starting out

A while back I was having trouble with my air dog system not getting the signal from the the lift pump wire harness to tell the airdog when to run. I ended up just running a toggle switch into the cab and controlling it manually. Well now that I have purchased a Hotrod VP44 I am afraid I or someone else driving the truck (fiance) will forget to turn the airdog on and damage my Hotrod VP44. So does anyone know were the lift pump harness gets the signal from to run stock lift pump.

I guess that I assumed that, my question was is there a fuse or power supply source somewhere else that could cause the problem.

I've had this same thing happen several times now. Don't trust the supply voltage from the ECU anymore.

A relay in place of your toggle should deal with the problem as this will take any load off the ECU.

still don't know what's going on here (weak battery, heavy load on LP, etc. ?) but it has to be one of the reason's for failed LP's.

I think most just find a circuit that is live when the ignition is on... use it to trigger a relay that supplies the AirDog with power...

It might run when you have the key on or in ACC, but I think this is usually the route most people take...

Take the red wire going to your fuel filter heating element cut and use it. If your truck does'nt start because the filter is cold you got other problems.

Glacier Diesel sells a pre-made wiring harness that does this exact thing. So far it works good on my truck.
