I had my lift pump on a 2002 24 valve replaced under warrenty with the new in tank pump that Dodge is using and when I drove the truck my BD Low Fuel psi indicator still came on. I went back to the dealer and was told that they only test for flow not pressure. I have connected a pressure gauge where the indicator mounts and I get 7psi at idle and 4-5 psi while running. Can ayone tell me what pressures the new in tank lift pumps run at?

Sounds right on with everyone else reported.

I am working on a permanant fuel solution for my dad's '02 so that he isn't stuck with that pump.

I had the new in-tank replacement done a 5K miles ago. My psi at the Schrader valve is 8 psi at idle, 7-8 psi at 65-75 mph and 5-6 under WOT from a standing start to 80 mph.

About where you are reporting. Get a Carter 4600 pusher pump from Summit and install it to boost the pressure. Should add about 6-8 psi across the board. Many members have been using this pump with the old style lift pump and it has been reliable. The higher pressure Carter 4601 is the model subject to failure.

Fuel pressure

I had to have in tank transfer pump and a new injector pump installed by the dealer about 3,000 miles ago.

Today I installed a BD low fuel pressure warning light as per installation guide.

I get the light after turning the ignition on and waiting for the wait to start light to go out. After starting the engine the warning lamp goes out but if you run it up to around 2000 RPM the light will come back on. Does this pump take the pressure at the injector pump to +5 PSI with the ignition on but the engine not running or does it pump only with the engine running?

Sorry for the long post but I was under the impression it worked the same as the engine mounted lift pump it replaced.

Thanks.
