I have looked though many threads & found that supposedly the STAR hotline is giving out numbers of never less than 8 psi. The problem is I can't find any proof of this.

My dealer is telling me not below 8 psi at driving speed (NOT WOT). I see about 6 PSI at WOT & 2700 RPM.

Does ANYONE have any documentation on this?

Thanks!

I was at the bosch pump shop in vegas during May Madness and he had a couple of pumps apart and so forth, and I asked a question on PSI's and he said what you posted. but the pump has a relief pop-off at 14 PSI so as long as you have preasure, you are fine but you want to stay at the top of it.

I know some guys here have had PSI's of 22 and such but that is not needed.

I run 12-13 Idle, 10-12 cruise and not less than 6-8 WOT I was told by that guy in the pump shop that those #'s are fine

I have a replacement Carter 15psi lift and a 7 psi pusher pump back by the tank. I also have a sediment filter before the pumps to keep them clean.

Hope this helps

Eric

Thanks for the info. I guess I will just watch it. On the plus side the dealer was friendly and didn't charge me anything to check it.

On a side note, When I picked up the truck the service manager told me that they saw 9psi under load. Their guages read a little different than mine (mine is Autometer Z series electrical & theirs was a mechanical). Mine does read 9 psi under load below 2200 rpm. Then it starts dropping to just about 6 psi at 2700 and never drops any lower.

Just another piece of practical eye-candy! Can one ever have too much eye-candy?!
