I just installed a VP-44 and Fuel Pressure Guage on my '99 Dodge. What pressures should I be looking at and what is the lowest PSI I should see before I take action and replace the lift pump? Right now at idle I'm seeing 14psi and when I'm cruising 65-70mph or around 2,400 RPM it shows around 8PSI.

A brand new lift pump will give you around 15 at idle and will cruise around 12-13. Dodge says nothing lower than 5 PSI but I wouldn't go that low before changing it out. I recently relocated mine back near the tank and replaced the LP and get almost 14 at cruise with 3/8" line all the way to the VP. Mine started to show around 6 and I didn't wait for it to go out. Your pressure is low at cruise, you really have to watch it, it can go at any time without warning. If you relocate and get rid of those banjo fittings, that pump might show more pressure and last a little longer, but carry a spare.

Thanks for the info! I have a new lift pump and the relocation kit from Geno's but am waiting for some Viton fuel line before I install it. I use biodiesel quite a bit and it holds up better than rubber fuel line. Thanks again for the information!

Lonebulltx, you're going to like that line kit. Once you get it in, there should not be much pressure drop when accelerating. Those banjo fittings are pretty restrictive.
