I put my 4313 guage on and it reads 4. 5 psi WOT, I hooked it directly to the banjo bolt that goes into the vp44, Is this acceptable reading? I know this has been covered before, just looking for some quick help

Are you looking for lift pump pressure or filter flow? If you want to get an accurate reading for your lift pump, you need to measure at the inlet port of the fuel filter.

I've spent most of the day going through various archived lists, and still am somewhat confused, . . there are two "test ports" on the fuel filter( at least on my 98. 5 24v) housing... the one closest to the firewall "is" direct off the fuel pump". . (?). All this has to do with the lift pump problems. Where does the average joe want to put his new guage?????? Especially when you have a truck with over 35K miles and never knew there was the potential for a problem, (until recently, thanks to the newsgroup)
