Mine had the same idle pressure before the lift pump but I could pull it down to zero instantly with the ez. Talking to Lenny at Dyno'Mite Diesel and he tells me that he has seen everything from 30 to 90 hp out of 03 ez's and Im talking about the standard 4 level model. Add that to the fact that some lift pumps are weaker than others and you get the result you are talking about. I know two other people with 03s and ez's and both of them pulled theirs down to zero as well. I know your on the DTR so ask Rod, he stalled his on the freeway during a romp from fuel starvation, thats stock truck and an ez. Or Try Jessie T. , he gained 30 hp on a truck with threes/DD's turbo/ez with nothing more than the installation of a pusher. That was same dyno, same operater, a few days apart. My own truck went from a max of 35 boost to 37 with the addition of a pusher pump. Yes I have read the Dmax's dont have one so we dont need it posts but the truth is when you see it with your own eyes its hard to deny. This then leaves the question of durability. Will the stock lift pump have better longevity? Dont know, to early to tell IMO. Will starving the cp3 hurt its longevity? Again, I dont know. I havent found anyone yet that does. The only thing Im sure of in that regard is that it is very expensive and I am my own warranty station. To sum it up, I have seen with my own eyes that power is lost with the stock lift pump, I sleep better at night knowing my cp3 isnt being starved. A no brainer to me.
