I checked my lift pump preassres over the weekend, and they where a little low. I think that the pump is getting worse. My dealer cannot get my truck in till next friday, and im not sure i should drive around till then if my lift pump is going. Should I nurse it till next friday, or do I change it out to my spare and cancel my appointment and eat the pump cost. It should still be under warrenty. I drive on average 125 miles a day, and need my truck for work. I dont want to install a VP44 also. Any ideas,

Thanks

Jason

Being a little low should be OK, IF you do not run it too hard accelarating or towing. That is when the pressure really drops. If it goes to zero when running it hard, that could cause a problem.

Fuel Preassure

Pre Filter

Idle 10 psi

WOT 7 psi

Post Filter

Idle 9 psi

WOT 5 psi

Note: WOT test where with no load on the engine.

Well, Jason, maybe if you weren't trying to push so much dang fuel through the thing it could keep up!:p :p :p By the way, I think I saw your soot cloud this morning from here (200 miles away)!:D :p :D

No Dave, that was probably me. Either that or it was Jason's clutch. Ohhh that's gotta hurt!!!:D

BTW, at WOT, I can see as low as 5 psi. But that's to be expected, with as much fuel as I'm ramming into the engine.

Jason, check your PM's.
