I called Cummins Intermountain in Las Vagas I had to order a spare lift pump for my 2001 auto. $150. 00 + 7. 25 state tax and shipping. I seem to remember a $120. 00 or $130. 00 price on this forum. Am I getting ripped off or not. I'm in a hurry for a long trip and really felt as if I would need to have a spare. T bad this pump is such a piece of crap to begin with.

I paid $139 for mine at a Cummins here in Wyoming. I keep reading where they have changed the part number several times, so maybe there is a difference in price. $150 still beats the hell out of DC's price.

I paid $129 for my last one, but when researching lift pumps last week (and learning that they'd been revised 2 more times since my last one, and the latest revision isn't even available yet) learned that the new one is $139 - that's through Cummins Michigan.

the part Steve is reffering to is 5015723-AC the" C" series, at one time was released, but is now back on hold, with no time of re-release available.

the next best one would be an AB at this time.

Todd, no - this is an even newer pump. Talked directly to the head man at the STAR hotline and at Cummins - this new rev pump has never been available. Was supposed to be out last month but still isn't available. If you go to a cummins distributor it's in there system as the latest rev but listed as status 80 - not available for order yet, but coming. I don't think it even has a Dodge part number yet. My info says it'll hopefully be out in the next month - but the STAR guys will get them first. This new rev pump is supposed to have hardened seats that the AC pump does not have.

Rich,

If you're pressed for time getting ready for a long trip, find out first what your pressures are. If they're fine then I wouldn't worry about tracking down a spare to take along.

You could pick up a spare from napa. Look at their accessories book at the Carter fuel pumps they are who makes the oem pump. I bought the 15psi HP model. If you need it then it is nice having one along. If you don't just return it when the new upgraded pump is avail.
