I see a lot of concern about lift pump reliability, especially from newer members. Lets find out how concerned we all should really be. I know I have been very concerned about a lift pump failure. Enough to spend money on a redundant system and carry a spare pump. I know some have had multiple lift pump failures, so I'll include that. Hopefully I'll get this right. Haven't seen a survey for awhile.

You should have also asked if they have a fuel pressure gauge or not.

I suspect a few are running on a weak lift pump and don't even know it, which would make the numbers for pump problems go up.

Agree that a fuel pressure gauge is a MUST on the 24 valve trucks. I am on the 3rd pump at 40000 miles, the present one has seen abot 7000 miles now, and it is starting to read slightly lower than when originally installed.

It's too early to tell the results, but there have been a substantial number of lift pump failures (I'm amazed at the folks that have had multiple lift pump failures). Wow! This survey needs to go for a while to get most the member's input. This is enlightening.

Also, I think everyone agrees at this point that TDR Rammers need a fuel pressure gauge. Looks like three gauges are in order, four if you drive an automatic. Pyro, Boost, Fuel Pressure, and Trans Temp.

I'll second that.....

I've found it particularly useful to go with the 3 gauge A-pillar mount, which covers all of the above plus an additional pre-pyro and rear diff temp in a 3 x dual SPA combo.

SPA IS trick!

John - don't you have stock in SPA :D :D :D

Really, it's hard to fit four gauges in a three gauge pillar mount. Ask me!

6 really does go into 3!!

Clarification... ... Three dual gauges in a three pod A-pillar mount.

The stock for SPA is a private company in the UK, with the R&D and factory guys working out of a converted Baptist church in the middle of England!

108 responses so far. Man, I thought there were more TDR members than that that logged on in a week. Maybe not? Anyway, back to the top. VOTE darn it!
