I just returned from a trip of 2000 miles, most things are ok. But I am driving a 04 dodge 1 ton with duel wheels and I am getting lower mpg than I did with my older dodge (1998) I used to get 14. 5 fuel now I get 10. 3
with the new fuel pulling the same load, a 11000 lb 5th wheel.
when I am pulling up a steep hill and have to shift to 2nd I try to keep the
rpm below 3000 rpm and prefer about 2500 rpm. after a bit of running at 3000
rpm the engine would start to cut out like it was running out of fuel
that is why I cut back on the rpm. this happened ever time. Do you think it's the life pump? or some thing else.

Dodge is a great truck with the cumming engine.
