Im getting ready to install a fp guage and I have been talking to this fella that used to work on alot of 2nd gen cummins. He said he has seen people stacking LP's? I was thinking that since I am going to be getting into the fuel system for the guage that I should go a head and install a pre pump or up grade the mopar lp with some after market pump. The thing I need to know is what pressure is the ideal press? Can you run a high press or high volume pump. I have herd of people putting in bigger injectors and starving the vp44. Would a hi volume pump or hi press pump make a difference? I have also thought of running 1/2'' fuel lines in and out with a fuel cooler like the circle track cars use.

Im really interested in what yall have to say shoot some ideas out or PM me.

I have a pusher pump mounted on frame under cab. It is a kit from BD power that kicks on when your oil pressure reaches 50 psi via pressure switch. This kit is used with stock lift pump but it takes the strain of pulling all the way from tank. Pressure should always be above 10 psi on your fuel pressure guage I can't pull mine under 15

I think 12 - 14 psi is the target range for the VP.

Many of us put the lp on the frame rail so it does not have to suck. It pushes fairly well. There are miles of threads discussing the move and why. I took a slightly different approach (see sig) and so far so good, but only 45k miles.

Many many options. You have to decide what works for you.
