My lift pump just went on my 2003 at 57,000km's so I took it to the dealer and got a 1/2 ton hemi to ride for a couple days.

Man I'm glad I got the cummins. Best gas mileage I got going home was 15. 3 mpg on the computer. And frankly the power I experienced was'nt that great. One thing I've complained freqently to the dealer about was my headlights. the 1/2 tons were considerably better with stock bulbs!(vs. silverstars in my ride) Darn Lift pump.

I had a '98 318 cid that got 12 mpg, and '02 4. 7L that got 14 mpg. I made a 200 mile trip last Friday with my '03 CTD... . running 75 - 80mph w/air conditioner on, I got 19 mpg... . love my Diesel.....

drove to N Pittsburgh and back last thurs and friday, ran 72-78 mph most of the way(until I hit PA) and got 23. 8 round trip:D

I'm reading a little prejudice here in favor of the Cummins. Our Durango with 4. 7 auto/3. 55 gets 12 city and 20mpg at 70mph consistantly. I get 15-18mpg with my Cummins city and 19 at 70mph consistantly. A co-worker has a '03 2500 QC Hemi auto/3. 73 that flat hauls-ass. I'm sure if he hooked up our 10,400 lb 5th wheel, it would be a different story but, running empy it's a screamer. He averages 14. 5 city and highway. All highway 70-75mph he's getting 17~ mpg. If it weren't for the Cummins, I'd have a 2500 Hemi in a heartbeat over the PSD or Duramax. Just my ever so humble opinion... :D
