I've noticed lately that my truck has been harder to start... not just the normal, wait for the light, bump the starter not even the full turn, and it goes. Lately, I've had to let it crank over one full time to get her to go. So, decided to listen to my lift pump.
When I bump the starter to set the pump into "prime mode" it sounds like a bearing is just grinding away. It's not the steady hum like it used to be. It sounds like it's cutting out some too. I'm a little concerned about it, and I don't have a FP gauge, yet.
Here's my two options. I'm going to order my FP gauge today, but I won't see it till next week. Should I just turn my Comp off, and drive the truck till I get the FP gauge, then see if I have something to worry about?
Or, should I yank my Comp and turnbuckle off, and take it in to the local dealer (not a stealer yet) and see what they say about it and risk them voiding my 100K warranty? The dealer would be York Dodge in Prescott, AZ. They've only treated me good so far, but not really sure what they'd say if they happened to see my pin prick on the pump wire (Edge pin connector is what I'm using).
Your thoughts guys?
Thanks, Josh.
