02 5. 9 cummins with 160,000 mi. . In the last 60,000 mi. I have replaced 2 injection pumps,3 lift pumps and 3 throttle position sensors. Can anybody offer any advice on how to solve these problems. Thanks Rick
I have 354000kms on my 98. 5. it has the original injection pump, and apps. i have had 4 lps. after the third lp i moved the pump back near the tank. the new pump has 16 psi at idle 14 psi at 70 mph. we will see if it lasts any longer. Iuse howes meaner additive to every tank of fuel. my truck has no power increases, has k&n filter and 4 in s. s. exhaust. and of course the #53 block.
Seems to me like a truck that is eating up injection pumps and lift pumps would have a problem at the source (tank). I'd take the tank off and make sure it's not restricting the fuel flow and making the LP work too hard and then causing the VP-44 to go out.
Possibly algae build-up in the tank or something plugged/restricted in the tank.
