Hi I have a 2001 dodge cummins with some mods and the lift pump died. Was wondering what was the best option. Should I just get a replacement pump from dealer or parts store. Or should I go with some sort of aftermarket pump thats mounted outside the tank. Thanks for the input and help. Dave

Dave, it depends what you want to do. The FASS is good the RASP is even better but they are not cheap. I would NOT let the dealer put a in tank pump at all. Cummins sells the L/P and you better have a gauge. Having a pusher pump works well as another opotion. Good Luck

Where are you at? We (NWBombers.com) are having a local party 1st weekend of Feb.

That really depends on how much money you want to spend. Mine also died not too long ago and I just replaced it with the oem one from cummins. I don't know how much power you have, but if you're planning lots of upgrades and such choose a FASS or RASP. The rasp would be my choice if I had big bucks, but I'm planning on running the FASS. You can get the fass without the filters for pretty reasonable and run it in tandem with your factory one. That's why i chose to simply r/r the factory one and than put the fass system on when I get the money. It's a pretty good unit from what I hear and I'm sure others will let you know what they think.

the fass II is the way to go you can get them for less than 400 and still get 17 psi at idle, this seems to work well and you can install the system in less than 2 hours if you know what you are doing!!!

I live in Wisconsin about 30 min from madison. I wouldn't let the dealer do it anyway seeing as how I work at a garge. Thanks for all the input. Im not in too big a hurry to get it fixed seeing as how its my second vehicle. I just want to explore all my options before I decide what too do. Prolly will put in a fuel pressure gauge when I change the pump also.

My truck was having LP problems as well. It is still under warranty but I was not going to let the dealer put a new LP in the tank. Originally I was going to go with a new factory LP and a big line kit but ended up buying a FASS. The cost difference between a new LP plus a big line kit for me was fairly close to the price of a FASS.

So far the FASS is great. The truck runs smoother now and I don't have to worry about any fueling needs when I add my Mach 4s... . :D
