Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) lift pump

Your mechanical is a very reliable gadget. Replaceing it is NOT smart.

If your engine is stock, the stock lift pump is more than adequate. You'd have to be over 500 hp to start thinking about the LP not being able to keep up.

Keep the mechanical pump. Install a fuel pressure gauge. Should read about 20 - 35 psig. If it doesn't, search this forum. Hundreds of posts on lift pump and pre-filter (and gauges). I just went over 151,000 mi. , no problem.

Almost forgot, have you tabbed or jigged the kdp? If not, search kdp on this forum. It'll scare you.
