A family member owns a 89 350 with 149k,recently his lift pump went bad and he says there is a knock in the motor now. My question is what are the signs that a lift pump is going bad?
A knock? Is the bad lift pump still in the motor? If not, the two are unrelated.
Symptoms? Low power, hard start... near impossible to get going after a fuel filter change... The primer pump refuses to work, the lever just flips back and forth idly.
Power Wagon, is there a chance that desiel can leak into the oil pan and then fuel wash the motor;not knowing that the lift pump leaked until he caught the strong smell of diesel?
