lift pump

I was wondering how common it is for a lift pump to leak and if it did where would itleak from?I'm getting a fuel smell from the engine. don't think it's the injector pump because it doesn't seem to be wet any where. How difficult it the pump to change?The truck has 180. 000+ on it and I never heard of these leaking and I can't really see it well enough to determin if it is.

Oh I think I figured it out! There's a weep hole on the bottom of the pump. I guess the diaphragm is torn.

Lift pump leak

If the lift pump diaphragm leaks it can leak into the oil pan also the seal in the front of the injection pump will leak into the pan

Check to see if you are making oil if so check the seals
