Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) lift pump

I need the newest cummins part number for the lift pump. I have no pressure before or after the filter

I just bought one Thursday and the newest # is 3990082 and it comes with a wire harness the price was $148. 13 hope this helps Aaron

How many years...

How many years does it fit... . 98. 5 through ???. Are these things still hard to get on short notice? I am going on a 2k road trip soon and don't want to be stranded waiting for a pump if it were to fail BUT I don't want to drop $150 bucks for a pump I don't need. I know all the arguments about having a spare but at some point you have to "Go with what you got", otherwise I'd be dragging a spare truck along.

Clarification.....

Cummnins PN 3990082 identifies a "kit" that includes the harness and pump. The kit includes the 3990105 lift pump. There isn't anything newer.



Cummins PN 3990105 identifies the the latest lift pump... . no kit, harness, etc.



The harness is not needed for 01 trucks... . mine. Not sure what years require the harness, but think it's for earlier than 01 trucks.



Just verified all of this with Cummins NW 888. 289. 0900

If you put a pusher pump on wouldn't that serve as a backup. If the lift pump failed, I would think that the pusher pump would keep you going, at least into a town where you could get another pump.

Seems to me, that if the VP-44 has 10-15 lbs and a several GPM, it wouldn't care where it was coming from.
