Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Lift Pump?

I a in need of help. I cant believe my truck would not start without help. About a week ago the truck wouldnt start right of the bat but after cranking about 5 sec it started. Last night tried to start but all she would do is turn over. I primed the plunger it was soft but after about 10 pushes it started right up. Is this most likely thre lift pump or something else?Can anyone help?

When I put my gauges in I started to put a fuel pressure gauge but decided not too. Now i think maybe it would have been a good idea.



1996Quad cab w/auto transmission,gauges(egt,trans,boost)stock truck but not for long.

Check the fuel lines for cracks - especially the return line. The cracks only have to be large enough to let air into the system and not leak fuel out. My experience always has been when fuel pumps (lift pumps) go out, they go out for good.
