Well the new truck with a mere 267K on is getting expensive quick. I changed the fuel filter tonight and could not get it to start filling with fuel. The lift pump is a newer OEM pump, but it is not pulling any fuel from the tank (which is full). It feels like it is working but with the bleed screw open I can hear air being pushed out and sucked in. On the 1992 I can hear air come out, but fuel comes in. I did try rotating the engine, no dice. Any ideas why the lift pump is huffing and puffing instead of just puffing and pulling? Time for a new lift pump? Dang that sounds like a 24V saying.

Case500D,

Is there any fuel coming out of the weep hole? If so it would be a blown diaphram... ... ...

I usually just fill the filter with clean fuel and fire her up, maybe you should give that try?

Its running again

Well I did get the truck running this morning. Took the trusty air compressor, a rag, and my wife. A bit of air pressure in the fuel tank and the lift pump started working again. Its almost like it lost its prime or something. I don't think there is fuel coming out of the weep hole, but I will check. Thanks for the idea GW.
