Mine are mainly work trucks so I don't want to get too carried away. I have always loved the sound of straight piped Cummins. What is the best way to go about it? Is there a complete system out there that works well? It has big pipes already, what about just a pipe to replace the muffler? I mostly looking for a little more sound, the lower EGT's and a touch of performance would be cool too.
I looked the silencer ring thread too. I looked at it on my truck and I just don't think removing it will help. It sure looks like it is there to efficiently funnel the air to the blades. I looked at the Scotty and Air raid intakes but I am not too hip on the K&N cone filter on trucks that see a lot of dusty conditions. I will probably go with an Amsoil filter, anybody tried them on a CTD? What about putting some extra holes in the airbox? It is a pretty common thing on the Chevy board, anybody tried that?
