Gas in Diesel

With the high cost of diesel fuel, I don't believe it will ever happen. At least not in the foreseeable future.

Allpar has amended that statement, you might see it in 2014, and GM may use it also.

The high cost of diesel makes the truck more attractive, unless it reaches the disparity it did in 2008, negating the advantage of its use variance.

IMO, we're going to be driving the Mahindra, despite their issues with GV, long before we see a diesel half-ton from the Big Three. It does actually exist and already has the blessing of the Punishment Agency.

With the advent of Direct injection for gas engines the power-efficency gap has narrowed again. This makes the EPA light diesel less and less appealing to the manufacturers IMHO

Gasoline DI offers much less power and economy than diesel especially under load. You can't escape the BTU in the fuel.
