VW diesel question

Walking through Home Depot this morning before clocking in, I noticed that we have some "Philips DuraMax" light bulbs. Just wondering if the Chevy Isuzu diesel was named after these bulbs.

Makes you wonder who used the name "DuraMax" first... ... .....

I think the light bulbs are relatively new under that name. I have been using Philips lamps (fluorescent, metal halide, high pressure sodium) for years and only recently (within a year or so) heard of the d-max bulbs. They must be similar to the Isuzu V-8 diesel because they are incandescent, which have a short life span. The Cummins would be the Philips Alto (fluorescent) in comparison. :D

If you go into the same Home Depot and look at a good old American Standard toilet, you'll see that it is a 6. 0 liter (per flush). Coincidence?

I think not...
