Lightforce, lumens and candlepower
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've ordered Lightforce 170 strykers and I'm going to mount them on my bullbar. Long story short, I hate our headlights... And my eyes are getting older... I've been doing some research. Seems like these Lightforce 170's are extremely bright (350,000 candlepower). Now I did some searching on Lumens and candlepower. Our stock headlights put out 700lumens on low and 1200lumens on high beams. Converting this to candle power you divide by 12. 57. So our stock headlights produce alittle more than 55 candlepower on low beams. So this means, if my math is correct, that the 170stryker is 6363 times brighter than our stocker... . No wonder they say you'll blind someone. Well I want to run these things INSTEAD of the stock headlights... Just trying to figure out what wattage Xenophot lamp I should use. Stock Stryker comes with 100watt. I'm thinking that the 25watt will still be too bright as it should be somewhere around 1500times brighter than stock... . WOW! What's a guy to do? Don't tell me about bright-boxes and such, as I'm not going that route.
Thanks
