I bought an 03 Teton and have a question about the trailer lights. It has backup lights on the trailer but how is it wired to the truck. The dealer says to look at the yellow light wire to center post. Is that supposed to go to back up lights on the truck. I didn't know the backup lights were wired to plug. Is it? The junction box for the trailer is up in the hitch and almost not accessible.



Any ideas?

Check the attached. Industry standard is backup lights to the center pin in a 7-pin connector.

It's also an industry standard that the back-up lamp wire is yellow and normally mounted in the center of your 7 pin connector.

By the way, stay away from yellow wires INSIDE the dash. This color has been set aside for airbag functions!
