Wow, I looked at the new "other" threads and theres lots of good ,worth reading threads. Nice surprise, seems like a step in the right direction... IMO.

Hats off to the managers/ owners etc. for "surgically" correcting the forum rather than eliminating it!;)

I know they got a "time out" but am hoping change will happen.

Bill there was an article on the Bitteroot valley in one of the many travel/camping related magazines we get. Looks like a great place to be. I have been to Montana but its been years! Hows the winters there?

Well its almost late enough to make some noise, I gotta do the rear brakes on the 3500. When I had new tires put on the guy pulled the drum and was showing me the glazed and fractured linings... . he wanted me to "let" him do the brakes. Thank you sir but I have to get $$ first :).

Mike, the Bitterroot is the banana belt of Montana, winter high daytime temps are usually in the 40s, snow rarely sticks for more than a week. It can get down to -30 with a week or more at a time below zero. Summer is easy also, it rarely gets over 90, most days are 75 - 85. Todays forecast is for 77/47.

Banana belt? You got bananas up there and we got fruits and nuts down here... humm! That valley runs into Idaho doesn't it?

Mike

I STILL liked it when it was included in "View new posts".

Much more convient that way.

Like I said in another post, I dont ever go the 24 valve forum, or the 3rd gen forum, but I wouldnt want to change the whole site because I read it that way.

If there was a way each member could customise the site to their own needs/wants... . that would be the answer, IMO.

That way, if there was a member who didnt find any interests in "Other" he/she wouldnt have to see it.

Oh well, guess I'm gettin old, just dont like change in general.....

Mike, the valley tops out at the Idaho border. The Bitterroot Valley should have been in Idaho except that Lewis & Clark blew it and thought the continental divide was one mountain range to the west than it really is. They thought the Bitterroot flowed into the Atlantic. The Montana Territory/ Idaho border (then the Oregon Territory) was supposed to be the continental divide. When you hear of their tales of woe crossing the Rockies it was needless, they could have just rafted down the Bitterroot to the Clark Fork then onto the Columbia. Instead they chose to cross the Bitterroot Mountains on foot and encountered the hardest part of their journey. The Indians tried to tell them but they wouldn't listen...

Kind of quiet around here. It seems a lot of the sillyness is gone from the other forum. The post ******, it seems, cannot get their counts up here, so I see they are furiously posting in the other sections. nuff said. For now.

I dont give a rats behind about the post count..... hell take em all, I just liked the convience of having it "all" there when I clicked on "view new posts" but now for some reason that aint even working for me. Not even in it's "new and improved" version. ??
