Question for turbo 2-stroke owners (sleds, etc)

What do you think? I'm really torn of what I like more now. The new Mustang, the new Challenger, or the new Camaro... ... . such a tough choice.

here's the other side, to help you decide.

edit: oh and the Dodge has the new 6. 1L hemi, and the Chevy has the corvette 6. 0 in it.

Theres no comparison between those two. The Challenger is far and away a better looking vehicle. The Camaro is hideous looking, it almost looks like a hatchback. The front end honestly reminds me nothing of a 69 and the rear end, uhhh well pictures speak for themselves. Now while I am not a Dodge man per say, the Challenger is a gorgeously redone throwback, just like the new Mustang. If mass-produced the Challenger will be one of the hottest cars on the market. Also I dont know if the Camaro will ever hit the streets again. GM has said this is a concept car and a concept car only. It is not slated for production anytime soon. Also they said they would need to sell 150-160,000 each year for it to be feasible and I just do not see this happening as the Camaro outsold the Mustang only once or twice in some 30+ years. The Mustang will outsell the Camaro, and the new Challenger (if mass-produced) would outsell the Camaro as well.

Just my . 02

yeah, I would probably go for the Challenger myself. The camaro has an eye catching quality to it, but they need to go back to the drawing board and make it look more like the original '69. I love the mustang as well, but I think this challenger just blows it away (my opinion). The only thing I would change on the challenger is to give it a little less rim and a little more rubber on the wheels. I'm not a big fan of the low profiles.

I think the Challenger and Mustang have found a much better balance between what the cars were in the 60's & 70's than that concept Camaro. For me the Camaro front end needs to resemble the 67-69's much more than it does now. The overall shape is close, but that rear end is too close to looking like a Vette. I hope GM takes some of the internet feedback and tweeks that concept into something that can give the Challenger & Mustang some competition for sales.

I give the

Challenger a 9,

Mustang an 8,

Camaro a 6

GM's design strategy was to make a new car with a mix of old and new, whereas the Mustang and Challenger were made to mimic the old.

I agree with Vaughn's assessment - the Challenger is a homerun, and the Mustang close behind. As to being able to get GM bombs better than DC ones, anything that puts more Hemi's on the street in really nice cars is going to result in more Hemi bomb production - and that's a good thing for those who drive the gas versions of our trucks.

Every time I look at that challenger, I think of how much I HAVE to have one... that is one awesome looking car. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put this car on the production line DC! I'm saving my pennies as we speak. I'd even hold off on picking up my 07 5500 with a 6. 7 cummins, if I could get one of these! Blackie will just have to keep working!

Oh, I would get and orange one!...

p. s. That camaro would look better if it was black

I agree with you about the wheels, JL. Too much of them and too little tire. If the whole idea is to appeal to those of us that loved the muscle cars, why put on the low profiles that had no part of it.

I really like the new Mustang, in the GT. Some of the plain Janes seem kind of bland. The front end of the Camaro looks like one of the new Impalas reworked. It just doesn't have that muscle car look.

On another note, if you really want to have a cherry 69 Camaro, you can build it. I saw one of those hot rod shows that are on during the weekends. Someone is selling the 69 shell. Provide your own frame and body panels and there you go. In fact, I think they said that every part of a 69 can now be bought new.

Now, if DC would just do up a 67 Cuda fastback!

My wife sent me a link to the Challenger, she likes it (and want one). As discussed above, the Challanger is a better looking car than the Mustang. I'd like to see the Mustang in the Root Beer color with the old Boss stripes on it.

The Camaro, unfortunatley, seems to be just as described above: too much new, not enough old and a little of other new cars in it too. Yuck, and I HAVE a '69 Camaro!

If DC continues to put these speed density highly proprietary ECM's in their cars I wont buy any of them. The LX platform (Magnum, Charger and Challenger) cars IMO are the biggest disappointment to the consumer like myself who likes to make performance modifications. The aftermarket still has not figured out the interworkings of the LX cars and they've been out since mid 04 as 05 models.

At least Ford and GM are admittidly "aftermarket friendly". DC prides themselves on the invulnerablities of their systems. shoot, my dad just bought a 2wd, LS2 (corvette powerplant) equiped trailblazer. Its what 395Horse stock and for $1500 over 500HP.

sign me up for the ugly but FAST Camaro!

Waaaay too much Caddy in the 'maro :{

That's the same thing I've been saying about the Camaro. It reminds me of the newer caddy's. I personnaly don't see any '69 Camaro in it and I'm a big fan of the car.

I got to go with the crowd on this one. DCX and Ford got it right... captured the essence of the original muscle cars, while GM has its head up its butt yet again. The last decade or so of stupid design from GM has been unbelievable. Don't GM designers ever get out of the office and ask real people what they think? I guess when the corporate "thinking outside the box" produces something like the Aztec..... well they might as well follow the crowd, but unfortunately for GM they still get it wrong.

Challenger clear winner!

Thank you DCX for leading the way!
