Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) limited slip additive,dana 80

i'm changing the gear oil in my dana 80 LSD to a synthetic brand(royal purple,amsoil) soon.

do i still need to add a tube of the LSD additive when using synthetic gear oil ??

I changed mine to the Royal Purple 85-140 and did not need to add any LSD additive.

I changed mine a year ago. I called RP to ask the same question. I was told LSD additive was added to the bottles. No sounds out of mine.

Ony add it if the rear end starts to make any noise.

If you do need lsd additive use the Mopar additive. It works great. I have used others and they just didn't cut it. I use Mobile One and the Mopar lsd additive with great results.
