I don't think my truck has limited slip. I put it in 4x4 all the time for simple things. Really sucks. Is there a place I can look to confirm if it is suppose to have it? Also, if it doesn't have it, what does it cost to have it installed?

Ok, I don't have LSD, and it really sucks. I drive around in 4x4 all the freakin time. I called the dealer and they want 1200 for the part alone. Any aftermarket LSDs? Anyone have a wrecked 1 ton with LSD?

The lockers that are on the power wagon will soon be released for sale by dodge so that should fix your problem. I know I will be buying them for my truck. The power wagon has a 10. 5 rear and 9. 25 front the same as the 2500 series trucks .

Bellyscraper,

Can you give me a little more info. on the lockers from DC? I have a '03 3500, does this mean the lockers will fit? Any idea when they will be available or for how much?

Thanks,

CJ, quite honestly, i don't think you are missing much by not having the factory anti-spin. i have been on level ground with only 1/2" of ice and not been able to move because one wheel spins and the other sits still.

you at least have a better chance because one of your front wheels is pulling. i only have 2 ehhh - 1 wheel drive@! :( with my anti-spin.

from what i have learned, you must put some amount of drag on the spinning wheel to get the stopped wheel to start grabbing. the only way to do this is to ease down on the parking brake and then release it once the truck starts moving. i have been successful at this technique, but i would rather have the old fashioned limited slip like on my 74 gto.

I'm not sure of the release date of the part's. But I hear it's late 05. I will see if I can find more info.

The Power Wagon only has the 10. 5 and all 2500's with the Cummins have the 11. 5. The locker will not be compatable in our CTDs from what I can tell. Detroit has said that they are working on building an e-locker for our 11. 5 axles, I don't have any idea when it's supposed to be ready.

I got caught in an unexpected snow storm in Suffolk VA on Dec 26. They said maybe flurries and when I left there was 9. 5" on the ground. First time in the snow and I did not need 4WD. The Anti-Spin did fine. Now this was fresh snow. I will see when we get some ice here at home. That maybe a different story!

You're not missing anything, don't bother with a factory mopar LSD. They don't work that great to begin with, you'll still be using 4wd.

mine works pretty good... i can get going in 2wd pretty easially in most situations... doesn't work as well as the gm G80 locker, but pretty close...

if the factory lsd doesn't work well enough for you, see if a no slip [detroit locker] is avalable...

I have limited slip in my 97 and I rarely used 4x4. Now I use it all the time

The Dana's used a clutch pack that will wear over time, or maybe you have too much friction modifier, that seems to be a possible plus for the AAM's. My own opinion is that the LS in my '03 works better than the one did in my '98.

Just an observation but it seems less of the new trucks are experiencing the rear end noise/howl that plauged postings about a year or so ago.
