 Howdy from Ga. Virgin cruise here, got a problem with an 01 stuck in limp mode . I added a TST box and later a new lift pump . The engine light stays on and Code 1693 comes up . I`ve disconnected the battery for several hours and am still stuck in limp. Is it necessary to strip the code to get back to normal ? Any help out there in Hero land? Thanks ... .....

Have you tried disconnecting the TST and batteries, then leave the TST disconnected?

Maybe you have a bad box. Oh... and welcome to TDR!

Thanks and thanks!! Actually ,I did`nt install the box myself and was hesitant about disconnecting it myself . I did turn it off and no difference . The engine light has stayed on now for several weeks but has`nt been in limp. I usually drive my other truck so this one sits for several weeks at times.

How does a person cancel an engine code ??

I would disconnect the box first as a test. The fault won't clear if its a hard fault that is there when you turn the key. Pulling both negative battery cables will clear any faults, after that if the light comes right back on then trouble was detected again.

What is the chance of having a bad box ? I bought this one used in N. C and he installed it for me . This is not my first diesel but it is the first after market perf. product I`ve used and am not sure where or who to turn to . Thot I`d call TST and see what they say. Do you know anything about Jeff Garmon here in Ga?

Excellent idea, they can verify if the one you have is for your year model. You might try their website for install instructions that you can work backwards for uninstall.
