Line pulse transducer tachometer.

Has anyone tried one of the Tiny Tach or other brand line transducer tachometers. I am trying to solve a warm idle problem.

"snap on" makes a timing devise that clamps on to an inj. line so a timing light will work and it works sometimes and sometimes not.

carries a Model 92 Handheld Tachometer 9200-HTK, Stock #620-0058, but it is $226.



We use them on electric motors. They are good from 30-30,000 rpms. Uses an optical sensor with reflective tape.

Thanks for the info, but I am trying to track down a pump problem and i need to check for inconsistancies in the injector line pulse.

I took your advice and ordered an IR thermometer. It should be here tomorrow. I'll check the temps and let you know.
