Anyone Line-X'ed the bumpers?

Perfect timing, I'm setting up an appt tomorrow with the local LINE-X dealer to do the bed and rocker panels but mine is not going to be color matched.

Wow, that looks trick! The only thing that would worry me is how well the surface cleans up... do you have to use a special cleaner or anything?

Would you do it again?

Can you Line-X the bumpers? Anyone done this? Pics?

I had my bed, rockers and nerf bars done a couple years ago. The bed and rockers have held up great, but it all pealed off the nerf bars. A couple weeks ago I bought some of that bedliner stuff in a spray can. I sprayed the nerf bars and front and rear bumpers. So far it's held up and it looks real good. No pics yet, I haven't had time.

I would do it again. The rockers and bumpers clean up easily and bug splatters simply wash off with no scrubbing. I will be doing my rear road armor and step bars before installing them as well.

Punkineater...

Nice photos and a good idea. I was just thinking of that for mine also. Now if those didn't have the carDomain logo they would make killer screensavers,LOL.

Thanks Andy for the Kudos, would you believe the truck was a cancelled order and sat on the lot for 2 months with "no takers". ----The truck appeared in Diesel Power in Feb 07 without the bumpers and roof basket---it may be out in Dodge Enthusiast Mag soon---(still waiting to find out). Now i have the ARP 625 studs beside me waiting to go on with a PA Performance 200AMP Alternator/Fluidamper and hopefully a set of BD towing twins in early 09. :-laf:-laf:-laf---DON'T MEAN TO KILL YA ANY MORE BUT HOW ABOUT LESS THAN 25,500 MILES ON HER:eek::eek::p:p:p,sorry to the other members for the off topic---CHEERS DW

Nice looking trucks you guys. I want to get my rear box done in Line-X but color matched to the Patriot Blue that my truck is and none of the half dozen Line-X shops in the area want to do it because they say that over the long run, the color impregnated Line-X is not holding up nearly as well as the black stuff. I was told the best way is to spray the black first and then paint over it in the Patriot Blue, but I'm worried that the paint will scratch off and show the black through and look pretty ugly. What did you guys end up doing?

Mine is the LINE-X ultra,UV resistant with the truck color mixed in---it has a warranty too against fading. Line X is pretty decent around here, any problems and he will/should take care of me considering a lot of guy have followed what i had done and a bad rap will spread fast. I have heard that at least 100 others have had some sort of bumpers/stuff coated by them in the last year. DW

You need to go to a Line-X dealer that is certified to do the X-tra topcoat which has the paint mixed in. That is the what I had sprayed.

Thanks guys for the additional information. It seems that the dealers up here don't have the X-tra line of line-X, so I sent the Canadian Line-x office an email asking for details if maybe another province has it or if we will get it soon. I looked it up on the US website and it looks like the ideal solution being both tough and colorfast.

Thanks again

Punkineater-

Do you recall if the gasket on the flares was installed & then Line-Xed? Seems the gasket would be hard to get on with a layer of that stuff on there too.

Your truck sure looks great. I also found a pic with black flares that looks pretty cool too, dunno who it is though. .
