We use our 5th from April to November and store it the rest of the year in Seattle. We will have a 1500 watt inverter, we will not run the AC off of the battery. Eventually we will convert our refrigerator to a 90 watt 12 vdc compressor cooling unit. We want to be prepared to dry camp using the battery, even when the outside temp might be in the high 20s (F). Question: Can we put the Lithium Ion battery in the front trunk, or does it need to go in the conditioned space under the bed.

If you're dead set on lithium they need to be in the conditioned space, even some of the newer winter friendly ones.

I'm still not on the Lithium bandwagon thou, too much money and too much of a pain in terms of location.

This type of battery can explore and or catch fire so needs to be in location that vents to outside.

Nope that's a total misinformation.

The one's that can blow up are the ones with the LiPo chemistry, in the Campers we are using LiFe(Y)Po4 battery's.
Whole different story. At this battery's you can drill a hole right through and noting happens a side from wasting a 1000$ battery.

Keep the battery inside especially if you're going to use it during the winter.
The battery CAN be used at extrem temperatures, but it lasts longer and with better performance when kept at room temperature.
Fitting it under the bed is totally safe and a good place for them, we had ours there to on the old Truck, in the new one it's in the kitchen cabinet down at the (insulated) floor.
These battery's don't gas at all, they are sealed. That's why you can install them in any position.
But they have an over pressure vent valve if something goes wrong, like overcharging or so.

I have have two Dewalt battery Lithium Ion catch in my house while in Dewalt charger set off the house smoke detector.

The dewalt batteries are a different type and are the “dangerous” ( for lack of a better term) kind the RV type they are talking about are a lifep04 type different chemistry
