2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Little red light ?

I have a kinda dumb question in my 02 2500 up where the outside temp fuel milage etc is on the bottom of the panel there is a little red light that never comes on I don't thik it is for the the alarm but am not sure I have never seen it come on and the dealer never knew what it was? anyone now?

It blinks when your alarm is active.

Yup, it's part of the vehicle theft system. If it doesn't come on (blinking when the truck is locked with the fob or door switch or outside key) then it is either a) set to be disabled or b) something's broken.
