Here is a shot of a turbo off of a truck I was working on today. The cell phone I used to take the picture really does not do it justice for how dark the brown color actually is. :-laf

I can only imagine what the upper end of the engine looks like,I see more than Turbo in future.

I tried to warn him about excessive EGT's and about the rash of dropped valve seats we have seen. :( I had another TDR member there when I was working on it. It is honestly without a doubt the worst looking heat damaged housing I think we have seen in a long time. The pictures really do no justice for how bad it is. :--)

im sure my turbo was feeling that way today as it bounced off 50psi

boy that'll scare the sh!! out of you. :-laf

But the attitude can only read to 35psi :p :-laf

You sure about that? I've got mine to read 40 before and verified it against my post set (autometer) on the pillar?

Also my turbo is pretty dark brownish in color on the top side, I've gotten it to 1400 perhaps twice? But can't think of a time I got it any hotter than that. I also heard a rummer that when people spray their engine bays down with all that Armor All it will turn the turbo that color too?

Hot Juice with Attitude! :-laf However, I must say the turbo never failed. I had an AirAid intake and 51" Nelson muffler. I finally went to a B1-2-04, with the B1 I dynoed 3 different times at 489 to 498HP, 2 different DynoJets and then at PDR. No other mods. Now I've gone to IdahoCTD Twins. :D

This truck did 467 on a dynojet with no other mods except the air intake and muffler. :D Big Bob, the color match is almost perfect, just lose the glossiness and add a touch of crusty brown. :-laf

Exactly how high did the egts get to do that, I noticed yesterday that I shouldn`t be over level 2 towing a dump trailer thats half full. I`ve started paying more attention to my gauges, now that I can remember which gauge does what. :)
