Has anybody used their bumpers for the first gens? Some guy in a cadillac thougth he could fly over from the far left lane doing 90 MPH and pass me on the right, but he didn't realize there was a car 3/4 of a cadillac length ahead of me in that lane. Folded my bumper straight forward when he cut in front of me. On the plus side, I tore the entire ass off his car and ran over it lol. Damage to my truck appears to be limited to the bumper. Unfortunately, his tag was included in the carnage, so I couldn't report him, and he did not stop. Honestly, I was expecting worst case I'd have to wipe some white paint off my bumper lol. I didn't even feel the impact. By the time I even realized what had happened, he was already 3 cars ahead, weaving in and out of traffic with sparks flying from his destroyed car.

Front or rear bumper? I've been rear ended twice. Honda & Mercedes left messed up. Slight tilt in rear bumper after Mercedes. I considered replacing, haven't done anything. Checked out LMC & others, all say you need a braket kit. I don't get it. Everything works, she only a work warrior now. Drive small Chebby daily, CTD was my daily 22-years. Blessings Y'all!, Patrick

Front. I hope my brackets aren't bent, but if so, it'll be either ebay used ones or the NOS ones from Jim's auto parts. They don't seem to be available reproduction. Depending on what year truck you have and what year bumper you want to use, you may or may not need a bracket kit. For the front, anyway. According to the part numbers listed on Jim's site (https://www.jimsautoparts.com/nos_truck_parts.htm), 78-85, 86-87 & 88-93 each had their own bracket design. Not sure if the difference is just on the frame end or on both ends. I ordered the premium bumper from LMC with a bolt kit. Fingers crossed it fits the stock brackets.
