I built a bracket for easier access to the filter on mine. Got some pics here.

Here is another place to put the By-Pass filter. It is located just benind the bumper on the passenger side of the truck.

This is how it was mounted. Using a piece of metal to "bridge" between the opening of the driving light bracket, the metal was attached to the braket with bolts, and the By-Pass was bolted to the metal. Oil feed line connects to the OEM filter mount where there is an existing 1/8 npt fitting, and the return line goes to anywhere you can find a place to get the oil back to the pan, such as the valve cover, oil fill cap, oil pan etc. In this case, it was returned to the oil fill cap, using a "modified" cap.

Owen thanks for the pics. The bypass filter I use is a drop in canister type-needs to be accessed from the top-like the stock fuel filter. It also is 10" across. I am currently looking underneath the air filter and make some type of trap door into the bottom of my AFE filter box. The bypass filter I use must gravity feed on the return side and it returns to the oil pan thru a fitting that replaces the oil drain plug. I have found easy places to mount these filters on all years but the 03/04 models. If I can't get my unit to work I may try the Amsoil unit as I love everything else they sell. :D
