Hope I'm putting this in the right forum.

I'm looking for the best place to mount my Frantz bypass filter. It's the small toilet paper model.

There isnt as much room in these engine compartments as the lod 1st generation CTD's. :D

Thanks

Eric:

I don't know how the Frantz looks, but a lot of people have mounted the Amsoil to the front crossmember under the radiator.

On my 97, i mounted mine below the turbo to a threaded boss off of the engine block(had to make a bracket).

I liked it there because it is fairly easy to get to and very well protected.

I mounted my dual bypass filter to the passenger side battery hold down bolts. I used a piece of aluminum 3" wide, about 8" long and drilled holes tp match the hold down bolts and made spacers to go under it between the battery and mount to spread the weight out more. Works good

Eric:

Do a search for bypass filter mount, i know there is information on the battery filter mount. There is someone making a bracket for this mount.

Eric:

As mentioned earlier there are several members that make a battery mount for the dual bypass mounts. I use one made by Ted Kidd, another member who makes one goes by "CPFF". Ted's mount has served me well for 25K+ miles. His uses the battery hold down whereas CPFF's is more of a box that goes around the battery. However both of these mounts are made for the amsoil dual bypass system. You may very well be able to use them for the frantz setup but not sure have not seen the Frantz setup.

Here is a picture of how I mount the by-pass, using a 2X4, then painting it black.

Thanks guys. I dont know what this looks like, so I'm not certain where it'll go yet.

We got lots of stainless steel and aluminum at work, so well have decisions to make soon. :D
