Have had a low oil pressure code in the ECM for awhile, no CEL. Gauge never moves off 40 psi. Where do I tap with a mechanical gauge to check the pressure and can I use my hand held fuel pressure gauge.

Thought it might be the sender unit so I bought one at the parts store for $24. Found it was for the gas motors. After calling afew diesel shops, all said must be a dodge part because they had no listing. Went to the dealer and they want $250 for one

This can't be true! Any help on finding one at a reasonable price would help.

pete, up on the head of the oil filter mount there is an 1/8" npt port that would work perfect for a mechanical gauge.

Thanks Bob, looked at the location today and that is a tight place. I might have a 90 deg. fitting that should work. My next thought was that there is no way I'm going to pay $250 for a sender to a gauge that doesn't read accurate anyway. With it unplugged the dash still reads 40psi. Would there be any problem with tapping into the sender port and putting a mechanical gauge into the cab for 1/5 the cost?

PS got the new decal for Smarty, Thanks.
