I was wondering if there is a way to install a lock-up converter in my 93 with the a518 transmission. When i had the transmission serviced i noticed that the valve body had a spot for the valve that controls the lock up converter although nothing was installed because it doesn't have the lock-up. Also is there any opinions out there on the TCI converter for our trucks?

lock up

You would need another valvebody, pump, input shaft, converter, pcm to control it, etc. I can get you a DTT non lockup converter if you'd like. Email me direct if you are interested. It would be more efficient than the OE converter and may lessen the need for lock up. Am not familiar with TCI converter. HTH

so converting this transmission to a lock-up would be a costly conversion? My goal is to increase my cruising MPH while towing my trailer. Since i'm in florida i usaully tow on flat terrain but the truck doesn't seem to like cruising 70mph so i run about 65mph. I really don't care how i increase the mph although cost is a big factor. I know the DTT converters are probably the best choice but i don't know if i can afford it!
