locked up Getrag

My daughter was driving my 91 and when shifting from 5th to 4th she said the thing just locked up and can't get it into any gear. I'm on my way home from a trip and haven't gotten to look at it yet. Any ideas out there. I used to have an old farm truck that got stuck between two gears once in a while if one wasn't careful. I guess things are getting worn in the Getrag too. I probably should be looking for a 4500 but I don't have time to do the work till winter. Thanks
