Does anyone have a way to securely lock the storage location between the front seats and/or under the rear seats of a quad cab?

I'm looking for aftermarket locks or homemade ways to lock one or both of these areas so that when I'm away from my truck for a few days while hunting I can lock my spotting scope and other items in these storage areas.

I saw an aftermarket box for the center storage location, but it was way too expensive.

I don't have a picture but you can use (make) a hood pin type pin (on a bracket) that bolts to the inside of the storage compartment (front edge). Make it long enough to go through (about an inch) the foldout covers. drill a hole through the pan/cover, insert lock.

I know you have to drill a hole through the pans/cover. If you use rivnuts to attach a bracket with the pin wou can just unbolt it so it's not in the way when not needed. I used 3/4" bolt/stud for the pin, just cut off the head and rounded it over. Piece of advice, don't make it too secure (sounds strange). They already broke into the truck so it's only supposed to be a deterrent. (slow 'em down a little). No sense in having them really tear up the inside of the truck too. already have a broken window, lock, door, etc.

I knew I saw these before.

I have a friend who USED to lock his car ALL the time. It was a convertible.

Told him it wasn't such a good idea. A new top is/was 1200. 00 and your tapes cost what? (mid-'70's).

After the top got knifed one night he didn't lock it anymore.

Genos garage used to sell a a lockable, steel box that fit into the underseat front center console and you can still use the seat-- it's called the console vault.
